Casual workers play a vital role in supporting KSS CRC to deliver programmes and Community Payback.
The type of casual work available includes:
Community Payback Supervisor: They are responsible for a group of adult service users doing Community Payback work in various settings. They need to maintain discipline and encourage service users to participate in the work.
Programme Facilitator: They lead group sessions with service users to help them to understand their offending behaviour and provide them with training and guidance to minimise their chances of reoffending. Sessions may include helping motivate people into work, tackling domestic abuse or substance misuse.
Support Workers: They are responsible for facilitating group work. They provide support at programme meetings by signing in the register, issuing travel warrants, reimbursing fairs, recording the session and any other ad hoc duties.
Hours and pay of work
Work is usually required in the evening and on weekends. You will be paid in accordance with the type of work you are undertaking.

If you hold the relevant skills or experience for the role, you will be invited to attend an interview. All casual workers are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including confirmation of your identity and eligibility for employment in the United Kingdom, reference checks covering the last three years, a satisfactory DBS Certificate (Criminal records check) and for some roles a satisfactory occupational health check.
What happens once you are a casual employee?
Once you have been through the recruitment process, we will add you to our register of casual workers. We will contact you to let you know when work becomes available.
Please note you will not receive any payment for placement on the register and there is no guarantee of work - the duration and availability of work will fluctuate according to the requirements of KSS CRC. Your placement on the register confers no employment rights in itself whatsoever. There is no obligation on KSS CRC to request that you undertake any duties and there is no obligation on you to accept any such request.
